Case studies and application fields
The project is structured in four case studies and four transversal axes:
- Case study 1: climbing (leaders: F. Quaine and J. Brugniaux). The current research program aims to address these issues by systematically coupling physiological, biomechanical and psychosocial approaches and by proposing a mix of long-term and targeted studies, in order to better understand the role of motivation, fatigue and recovery in their different facets. The collection of data in situ will be facilitated by the FFME mountain sports federation and the Voiron climbing academy, which includes the best current and future French climbers.
- Case study 2: trail-running (leaders: S. Doutreleau and C. Ginoux). Created on the same model as case study 1, with the collection of data from the UT4M, one of the biggest trail running events and communities (about 4500 trailers in 2021) organized around Grenoble.
- Case study 3: Team sports (leaders: S. Isoard-Gautheur and D. Trouilloud). The main objective of this user case will be based on multidimensional measurements in order to overcome scientific obstacles concerning the relationship between interpersonal dynamics, fatigue and the occurrence of injuries.
- Case Study 4: Maison Sport Santé (leaders: M. Mendelson and N. Vuillerme). There will be three goals.
- Understand the interaction between an individual's psychological and physiological profile and long-term adherence to physical activity for health using a longitudinal approach
- Individualize physical activity programs and interventions based on multidimensional psychosocial and physical profiles
- Compare outcomes across different types of physical activity interventions, identify behavior change techniques and biopsychosocial processes that may explain their effectiveness, and the biopsychosocial moderators (e.g., motivation, affect, fatigue, cardiorespiratory fitness) for which interventions are effective or not
- Transversal axis 1: Multidimensional evaluation (leaders: J. Brugniaux and H. Dubouchaud). It aims at characterizing the individual in movement by updating and discriminating innovative multidimensional markers and by combining interdisciplinary approaches (physiological, neurological, biomechanical, psychological).
- Transversal axis 2: Interventions, follow-up (leaders: M. Mendelson, J. Frère and C. Ginoux). The objective is to understand the factors and consequences of physical activity and sport, by tracing them in their multiple dimensions, in situ, in their physical and social environments, and over the long term.
- Transversal axis 3: Data analysis (leaders: G. Cougoulat and A. Leclercq-Samson). The aim is to integrate the data collected in AT1 and AT2 to answer prediction and forecasting questions, in particular the detection of future talent, the prediction of physical fitness and response to training or physical activity, the risk of injury, the risk of sedentary behaviors, the adaptation of the preparation of the athlete according to his physical and mental state. In addition, a detailed analysis of the cognitive and social impact of data massification and its individual and social acceptability will be carried out.
- Transversal axis 4: Transfers and valorization (leaders: N. Vuillerme and N. Daniel). It will focus on the transfer of knowledge and innovations produced by the Sport Perf Health project to the socio-economic domain (e.g. equipment manufacturers, physical and sports activity operators) and the cultural environment.
